Information about the 1st day of School

1st Day of School
September 4, 2012

* All Shelter Rock Academy students (no matter what your schedule says) should report to the Academy no later than 7:55 on Tuesday, September 4, 2012


7:55-8:30:  Student and staff Bagel Breakfast
8:30-9:30:  Community Meeting
9:30-10:15:  1st Serenity Station
10:15-11:00:  2nd Serenity Station
11:00-11:45:  Student and Staff Hero Lunch
11:45-12:30:  3rd Serenity Station
12:30-1:30:  Clean up and Set up
1:05…  8th Graders leave for the middle school
1:30-1:45:  Wrap up
1:45…  Bus departs for the high school

** We will be taking a group picture either at the sign or entrance at the end of breakfast

9th Grade Bagels and "LOCKS"


The Student Government Executive Board 
cordially invites the Class of 2016 to our annual 
Bagels and “Locks” Orientation 
Tuesday August 28, 2012 9:00 a.m. 
Main Courtyard and Cafeteria A

You will have the opportunity to purchase a lock as you explore the school and go on a practice run-through of your schedule.  It will be the prefect opportunity to see friends and share your schedule.  

During the visit, you’ll realize there are many clubs and extracurricular activities for you to partake in, such as Homecoming and Battle of the Classes. So, come and join us on Tuesday, August 28.

(Recommended: Larousse or Harper Collins)



*Parents may want to consider purchasing or ordering online before the start of school.  Staples often sells out of Spanish-English dictionaries in the beginning of September. Students will be able to use this same dictionary throughout all levels of Spanish.

News from The Rock...

I can't believe tomorrow is August 13th already!
Here's an update since last I wrote:

  • A new 'Shelter Rock Academy' sign has been ordered for the front lawn
  • The new 'Student Lounge' received its cool sectional couch last week
  • Our first field trip was tentatively booked and scheduled for Friday, September 7th... Details will follow with approval.
  • Supply list are being updated...  I will keep you posted!
